When I interviewed to be the DCentric blogger, one of the things I passionately expounded on was the idea that DC is an under-loved and under-appreciated city. I’ve lived in other major American metropolises and I am from the left coast, so I feel like after a decade spent in Chocolate City, I am more than qualified to make such a bold assertion. I was born and raised in California and I often encounter people who, when they find out that little biographical detail, are immediately compelled to ask “WHY would you CHOOSE to live here instead?” Well, I choose to be in DC for many reasons.
