Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library Stays Open on Sundays

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial Library at 9th and G Streets, NW was to join all other District libraries in closing on Sundays due to budget cuts. But Mayor Vincent Gray announced over the weekend that the city’s largest library will remain open on Sundays, thanks to an addition of $316,000.


Today, Mayor Vincent C. Gray announced that funding will be made available to ensure the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library will remain open on Sundays.”The library plays an important role in supporting education for students of all ages and providing job search and career assistance,” said Mayor Gray.
